Choose Your Character (Character Design) is the process in which I designed and illustrated three separate characters for an upcoming animation I am currently working on. The animation will be interactive, allowing users to "select" a character.
Each character was designed by me, with a personality given to them in the thought process. Because of the inclusion of personality in their character design, each character has a specific move they will perform upon user interactivity.

Character 1 Design/Concept Planning: Hilly
The name "Hilly" was inspired by the style of artist Lauryn Hill, hence a play on her last name. Hilly was designed with a personality that was slightly grungy yet in tune with herself and who she is. She has a strong, active, and artistic personality.
Character 2 Design/Concept Planning: Foxy
"Foxy" was inspired by Foxy Brown and other 90's female hip-hop and R&B artists, from the confident stance to the bold style.
She takes the hip-hop culture seriously, immersing herself in everything she believes it to be. Above all, she's in it for the music and dance.
Character 3 Design/Concept Planning: Bambi
The character was initially inspired by rockstar artist, Prince. The character is named after Prince's song, "Bambi".
In the original sketches, I gave Bambi more of a style of a male in the 70s, a character you might have found on the hit dance series, Soul Train, but with a touch of 80s influence from artists like Prince. The more I sketched I decided to give Bambi more of a modern touch, while still harnessing small details that touch into rockstars of the 80s.
